Kari's life, although she chose to look to the light
instead of cowering under it's shadow.

just when life seemed to be wonderful.
The tenacious, courageous, hopeful,
but ultimately unwinnable battle to regain her health.
Her bravery and strength of will to fight
with all she had to live.
Her grace and dignity when facing her own death.
The devastation that took over my heart and mind
and threatened to destroy me.
The gradual, hard-won climb back into a life of purpose and joy.
Learning to live with the constant absence
of Kari's presence here on earth.
And finally, the wonderful hope of reunion beyond this life.
